ACTS Culture of Loving-Kindness
Our corporation began in 1971 through the vision of a church pastor and members of his church. Their goal was to find a better way to care for the senior citizen members of the congregation in their later years of life. ACTS has since grown into a large corporation with many properties and thousands of employees ministering and working to meet the needs of residents in different states.
Our desire of serving our residents with excellence is based on an equally strong desire to build a culture of loving-kindness in the workplace. Our vision for ACTS Retirement-Life Communities is to have The ACTS Culture of Loving-Kindness be the basic fibre of our daily practice to meet the needs of those we serve. We know we will never be perfect but, to have this idealistic, God-like quality as our goal, gives us a unique standard of excellence to achieve and measure. It becomes our way of doing things. It is our objective. Each time we succeed, another employee or resident is the beneficiary.
Our ACTS Mission Statement proclaims that we do what we do in a "Christian atmosphere." Recognizing that our employees and residents come from many walks of life and hold different religious convictions, how can we all support this goal in everyday situations? Loving-kindness is described as kindness coming from love, affection, and tenderness. But the word also encompasses a strength of resolve and conviction to do what is right before God, our fellow employees, and our residents.
Our objective is to apply The ACTS Culture of Loving-Kindness into all aspects of our corporate life. We see it as having as much application to the work of the community accounting coordinator and environmental services staff to nursing assistants, maintenance, culinary staff, chaplains, and members of senior management. You see, The ACTS Culture of Loving-Kindness has application to everyone, no matter what role they perform.
