Acts is currently seeking a qualified candidate for our Part Time Bereavement Coordinator position in our Hospice Department.  In this position, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Recruits, orients, supervises and retains volunteers.
• Responsible to ensure and document that active volunteer hours provided within hospice, at a minimum, equal five percent (5%) of total participant hours of all paid hospice staff’s direct care hours. Assures that volunteers are documenting their visits.
• Responsible to screen(criminal background check and references) all volunteers before service is provided.
• Maintains personnel records for volunteers, including evaluations, competencies, and summary of service record.
• Responsible for making sure that bereavement assessments and plan of care are completed.
• Attends IDT meetings.
• Provides grief support to bereaved, volunteers, community staff/residents and hospice staff.
• Organizes annual Memorial Service.
• Shares on call responsibility.

Job Requirements

The critical skills and knowledge required to successfully perform the functions of the position are normally obtained thru the completion of a college education and demonstrated experience in a social work, volunteer recruitment, or prior work/training in bereavement, loss or grief.
