Summary Statement:

Conducts religious worship and performs other spiritual functions that would arise within an Acts community. Provides spiritual and moral guidance for residents, employees and families. Subscribes to the Acts Mission Statement and Acts Vision Statement.

Essential Job Functions

• Provides for the spiritual and emotional needs of the residents, employees and families.
• Develops and maintains continuity of the overall spiritual life of the community thru coordination of religious and spiritual programs.
• Provides Sunday worship services.
• Participates in resident’s care plan and level of care reviews, when appropriate.
• Maintains a working relationship with the executive director, administrator and other department personnel while participating on committees as assigned.
• Serves as a liaison between the residents and other religious or spiritual representatives.
• Helps develop and facilitate support groups as needed.
• Covers on call for special needs, finds replacement coverage when needed.
• Visits residents and staff as needed.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Critical Skills and Knowledge Necessary

• Confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and subscribes to the Acts Corporate Statement of Faith (The Apostle’s Creed)
• Possesses good written and oral communication skills
• Possesses excellent problem solving skills
• Relates well to the members of the resident population and staff
• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bible and an understanding of the spiritual needs of the residents and employees thru professional development opportunities

The critical skills and knowledge necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities outlined under the essential functions are normally obtained through the attainment of a degree in a biblical or theological discipline and ordination by a recognized Christian endorsing agency. The minimum experience required to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary is at least 5 years of Christian ministry.
