We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Corporate Director - Environmental Services located in our Corporate Office in West Point, PA reporting to the Senior Vice President of Community Operations. 


The Corporate Director of Environmental Services is responsible for the oversight of Environmental Services for Acts’ 23 locations in 9 states.

Job Requirements


Key responsibilities include:   

-           Planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and supervising functions and activities of the Environmental Services department including supervision and management of community based department leadership

-           Preparing annual operations budget for environmental services in conjunction with community Executive Directors

-           Conducting routine community visits

-           Conducting and responding to issues of resident satisfaction and safety

-           Supporting the procurement process by negotiating with vendors to purchase equipment, materials and supplies and making recommendations to the VP of Procurement & Contract Management

-           Conducting regular management staff meetings and communicating with members of other departments to coordinate environmental service activities  

-           Ensuring that the communities maintain an “inspection ready” state

-           Ensuring all required preventative maintenance and documentation on equipment is completed timely and effectively

-           Ensuring the department operates within federal, state, OSHA and local regulatory guidelines

-           Proposing and implementing changes to the environmental service program that enhance the desirability of the community for current and future residents and enhancing operational efficiencies

-           Developing and ensuring the implementation of training programs for environmental services staff

-           Maintaining Environmental Services Policy & Procedure Manual


This position will require extensive travel.


The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: 

  • B.S. Degree in related field or related experience required 
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification highly desirable  
  • Minimum of five (5) years of EVS/Housekeeping experience in a retirement or adult home preferred, depending upon formal degree or  training
  • Knowledge and experience with oversight of multiple levels of care (skilled nursing home, assisted living, independent living)
  • Excellent customer services skills and experiences  
  • Experience with Federal & State healthcare surveys 
  • Experience with P&L accountability highly desirable  
  • Contract-managed service experience desirable
