Summary Statement:

Coordinate the medical records and activities of the hospice office and manages the telephone console.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides general office, telephone, reception and administrative support
• Maintains hospice data base and all hard copy manuals and records
• Enters hospice enrollments on a daily basis, maintain supply of admissions packets for distribution
• Verifies the insurance benefits of referred participants
• Releases accurate data related to billing to ACTS Accounting Department 
• Tracks physician orders and office and medical supplies

Job Requirements

Critical Skills and Knowledge Necessary

The critical skills and knowledge required to successfully perform the functions of the position are normally obtained through completion of a high school or business school education and demonstrated organizational, communication, interpersonal and data processing experience. Strong computer skills required, including experience with word processing, Excel and Power Point. On the job training will be required to learn hospice software program and hospice policies and procedures.

• Maximum liftingcarrying of ten pounds occasionally
• Frequent sitting
• Frequent operation of hand/arm controls
• Frequent fine finger manipulation
• Frequent talking and hearing
• Frequent near acuity (20" or less)

Environmental Conditions

• Inside 100%
• Climate controlled office environment

Hours of Operation

• 40 hours per week, additional hours may be necessary
• Standard 8 hour shift is 8:00am - 4:30pm
