Summary Statement:

Coordinate the activities of the hospice office and manage the office functions, including the telephone console.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides general office, telephone, reception and administrative support
• Maintains hospice data base and all hard copy manuals and records
• Enters hospice enrollments on a daily basis, maintain supply of admissions packets for distribution
• Verifies the insurance benefits of referred participants
• Releases accurate data related to billing to ACTS Accounting Department
• Oversees distribution, return, purchase, repair and records for employee equipment (i.e pagers, cell phones etc.)
• Tracks physician orders and office and medical supplies
• Maintains medical records for participants
• Accountable for incoming and outgoing mail services

Job Requirements

Critical Skills and Knowledge Necessary

The critical skills and knowledge required to successfully perform the functions of the position are normally obtained through completion of a high school or business school education and demonstrated organizational, communication, interpersonal and data processing experience. Strong computer skills required, including experience with word processing, Excel, and Power Point. On the job training will be required to learn hospice software program and hospice policies and procedures.

• Frequent fine finger manipulation

• Frequent near acuity (20" or less)

Hours of Operation

• 40 hours per week, additional hours may be necessary
• Standard 8 hour shift is 8:30am - 5:00pm
