Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Recreation Assistant position in Willowbrook Court. In this role, you will assist the recreation coordinator in preparation and planning for the recreation program of residents.

Job Requirements

The Activity Assistant will stimulate the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and emotional well-being of the residents residing in Willow Brooke Court, Skilled Nursing. Provide therapeutic and recreational activities to meet the daily needs and interests of the residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

1. Lead group and individual activities both structured and impromptu in activity spaces, common areas, and in resident’s rooms. 

2. Work collaboratively with other team members, volunteers, families and community groups. 

3. Plan and prepare various activity programs using skills and areas of specialty. 

4. Generate needed activity supply lists and maintain supplies and equipment in a safe and functional order. 

5. Consistently maintain proper documentation including daily attendance sheets. 

6. Participate in team discussions regarding activity programming, monthly calendars, activity and staff scheduling, and resident issues.


  The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements
 

  • Completion of a high school education (or GED) and up to one year beyond high school job experience 
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • One year working as an Activities Assistant in a licensed health care facility, preferred
  • Experience working with the elderly preferred
