Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Rehabilitation Assistant position.

1.Performs clerical duties within the department, including maintenance of client files and records under the direction of therapists and Rehabilitation Services Director.

2. Assists in scheduling, transporting and preparation of clients for rehabilitation services.

3. Files correspondence and other records.

4. Answers telephone and gives information to caller or routes call to appropriate department and places outgoing calls.

5. Greets clients, assists with completion of initial paperwork prior to evaluation.

6. Compiles and types statistical reports, as directed.

7. Records minutes of staff meetings

8. Uses various office machines, copies correspondence, and prepares various documents.

9. Assists with preparation of equipment in the Rehab clinic and lets the Rehabilitation Services Director know when maintenance or attention is required.

10. Keeps the Rehab Dept. well stocked with items including but not limited, office supplies, patient treatment supplies, linens, bathroom supplies, cleaning or whirlpool supplies

11. Assists with cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas, according to all specific safety and infection control policies and procedures

12. Assists in departmental communications as delegated, which may include attendance at meetings, communicating with nursing staff, telephoning, and ordering supplies.

13. Knowledge of medical coding/billing.

14. Insurance verification.

15. May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

The critical skills and knowledge required to successfully perform the functions of the position are normally obtained thru:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years post-high school clerical experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point)
