Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Accounting, the Senior Accountant applies principals of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for quarterly, annual and regulatory processes.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Compiles and analyzes information to prepare various financial and regulatory reports.
  2. Assists with preparation of quarterly reports for bondholders.
  3. Assist with the preparation of audited financial statements.
  4. Responsible for reviewing State & Use tax filings and ensuring continued compliance.
  5. Responsible to review accuracy of IRS 5500 forms.
  6. Assists with Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and renewal applications.
  7. Works on annual tax deduction letters for residents and their responsible parties.
  8. Prepares financial analysis.
  9. Participates in special projects as assigned.
  10. May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

The critical skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in this position are normally acquired through the obtainment of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, and through progressive work experience of at least five years in general accounting; public accounting a plus.
