Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Accounting, the Senior Accountant applies principals of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports in particular for monthly & quarterly closing processes.

 Essential Job Functions

  1. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries for month-end closing processes according to required deadlines.
  2. Assists with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  3. Maintains occupancy statistics and enters resident contracts into the Forecast system.
  4. Responsible for preparation & filing of State & Use tax.
  5. Prepares monthly account reconciliations.
  6. Responsible for net asset management.
  7. Helps to ensure invoice coding is in line with chart of account descriptions.
  8. Serves as an assigned contact person for regional communities.
  9. Participates in special projects as assigned.
  10. May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

The critical skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in this position are normally acquired through the obtainment of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, and through progressive work experience of at least five years in general ledger accounting and month end close.
