Job Description

The Technical Analyst role can include utilizing multiple disciplines to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, end user device and wireless network services. This is achieved by supporting, planning, and implementing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), server across the organization.  Working knowledge of network, server, and end user device virtualization is also a key component of the Technical Analyst role.  In addition, the Technical Analyst will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network/server/voice/end user device hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

Education & Experience: The critical skills and knowledge required to successfully perform the functions of the position are normally obtained thru:

      • Education Level: University degree in computer science, electrical engineering, CIS/MIS
      • Years of Relevant Work Experience:   4-7 years equivalent work experience. Certifications in Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Novell or other industry standard certifications are a plus

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN support, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience with network/server/end user device capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network, video, VMware/server, end user device and storage technologies.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including TCP/IP, Routing and Switching, firewall, video, VPN technologies and end user device.
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
